With the new configuration, the Spectacle seems to be geared down or something because people can run on the hamster wheel and the hand doesn't freak out.
I'm pleased to report that we wiped the blood off before anybody saw anything, and nobody was the wiser.

Re: The NIMBY Party
Tue, October 18, 2005 - 3:12 AMHi!!!!
I am so happy to hear that there were no injuries at the Spectacle!!!!! Just too bad about the rest of the party. We got in last night and heard about Ranessa and the other guy.
We were a bit nervous because young Alyssa had invited some of her friends from school (I remember throwing my first high school party) and I really wanted to make sure that they especially didn't hurt themselves. Thanks so much for taking the mike!!!!!!!! I should have known there wasn't a reason to worry.
We now have to take the thing down again. However, I have just found out that it might be invited to the Laughing Squid birthday party!(There are a couple of logistics that I have to warn Scott Beale about first so he knows what he's getting into) After that... (gasp) perhaps mabie possibly....the exploritorium. I just traded emails with someone who works there who didn't think the idea was 100% impossible. Heck, that's good enough for me!!!!
I hope you had fun. I think I'll call you tomorrow and ask.

Not sure exactly what that means, unless it had to do with the kids leaving early. That much I heard about.
"Thanks so much for taking the mike!!!!!!!! I should have known there wasn't a reason to worry. "
Actually, it's not all that hard to do the mic and the brake, which I did for some time when both Joe and Will were gone. Not a problem at all. I really like the way it's laid out now.

See? SEE? I told you that the Exploratorium might be interested in such a thing. It's perfect for them. They'd probably modify it a bit, maybe padding the cage, things like that. But it really only takes one operator and they have plenty of decent docents whom I'm sure would jump at the chance to do run it.

Re: The NIMBY Party
Fri, October 21, 2005 - 1:42 PMUnfortunately, The only place that the nose picker could fit in the exploritorium is under re-negotiation. And since they don't have a director, they will not be taking any new pieces.
Ah well -

Tue, October 25, 2005 - 9:28 AMI can't confirm the details of the untimely demise of the cooler, I can only report that reliable sources insist that it is no more.
RIP big white cooler, you were our refrigerator, our table, our friend. Although our time together was brief, we will always love you. -

Re: The NIMBY Party
Wed, October 26, 2005 - 8:19 PMoh, now you've done it.
Now I'm going to have to build a plexiglass box at BM06, with a big sign on top that says "Blondie" and put a petite beagle inside it for a week.
Nice - and I thought I was going to take it easy this year :( -
-
Re: The NIMBY Party
Thu, October 27, 2005 - 5:38 PMI did say petite beagle CARCASS...plexiglass box or no, I don't think Blondie will need much tending next year.
Um, I'm liking this whole "carcass in plexiglass" concept - very " Zed and Two Naughts"
